About the Work

Through immersive workshops, high school students are invited to observe, record, and survey the river settlement environment, focusing on how living conditions interact with river systems amid environmental change. Grounded in local knowledge and community wisdom, participants map their observations, recording personal experiences and emotional impressions to weave together a collective understanding of watershed issues.

About the Artist

Huang Jui-mao: Dedicated to local environmental transformation for over two decades, Huang focuses on Taiwanese social shifts, offering policy critiques and activist action on urban issues such as community design, historical preservation, creative cities, eco-sustainability, right to the city, public art, and social housing. Former chairman of the Organization for Urban Reform (OURs), he authored Creative Programming in Reuse of Spaces: An International Perspective and Writing Artistic Terrains. His award-winning public art includes For the past decade, he has led Tamkang University's USR project, putting the philosophy of "Bring Design into the Living World" into practice through workshops and spatial construction across Tainan, Chishang, Tamsui, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, and Guangzhou. Lin Hong-en: Drawing inspiration from daily life, Lin works across multiple creative disciplines. His recent focus examines how architecture can intervene in social and environmental changes through knowledge and technology to shape inclusive, adaptive design actions. He specializes in photography, visual communication design, visual art, spatial installations, regional design, and architectural space design.
