作品簡介
臺灣民俗視覺充滿雜揉與變異，從廟宇門神的水墨線條、油畫光影到漫畫式構圖，不拘一格的技法與風格，正是島嶼對信仰書寫的自由實踐。借用民間信仰中「四海龍王」的架構作為形式基礎，讓這些神明在臺灣的地景、物種與文化混血中，長出嶄新樣貌。將這些視覺與文化的碎片重新編織，描繪出臺灣對神祗想像的差異形狀，並使其在當代語境中發出屬於自己的聲音。
關於藝術家
蔡濰任現居臺南，創作靈感來自民俗與日常生活。創作主題主要探討民間信仰與人的關係，藉由民俗繪畫的再詮釋，建立自己與土地更親近的連結，讓觀者能夠透過作品重新擁抱自身文化裡遺失的一塊。希望透過作品向現代人傳遞先民對於土地的尊敬，更提醒多元族群互相接納的生活態度。

About the Work
Taiwanese folk visual culture thrives on hybridity and transformation—from the ink lines and oil paint chiaroscuro of temple door gods to comic-book compositions, unconstrained techniques showcase the island's dynamic faith expressions. Borrowing the framework of the "Four Sea Dragon Kings," these deities take on new forms fused with Taiwan's landscapes, species, and cultural heritage. Reweaving fragments of visual culture, the work paints the diverse contours of Taiwanese sacred imagination, allowing traditional deities to speak with a contemporary voice.
About the Artist
Currently based in Tainan, Tsai Wei-jen draws creative inspiration from folk customs and daily life. His practice explores the relationship between folk belief and human experience, reinterpreting traditional folk painting to establish a closer connection with the land and helping viewers reconnect with missing pieces of their own culture. Through his work, he aims to convey ancestral reverence for the land to contemporary audiences while serving as a reminder of mutual acceptance among diverse ethnic groups.
