微光的所在――大丘遺事
Where the Glimmer Resides: Chronicles of Daqiu

About the Work
Taking the pre-electrification lifestyle of Taiwan's foothills as a point of departure, this project transforms an abandoned space into a "darkroom of time." Upon entering the pitch-black environment, the audience's sole connection to the past is the "beam of light" from their handheld flashlights. Through this partial and fragmented illumination, visitors are compelled to navigate through peeping and searching, reconstructing the life trajectory of a household from these mountains. This is more than a mere restoration of a vintage scene; it is an act of "memory harvesting," overlaying local artifacts, beliefs, and soundscapes with the reality of the present.
About the Artist
Born in Taiwan, Shih Ho-feng graduated from the Graduate Institute of Studies in Documentary at Tainan National University of the Arts. His family’s business in the traditional industries has such profound influence on him that in his works, Shih often conveys the disappearing cultures as society moves with the times. His visual style is known for its calmness and serenity; through his observation in the real setting, the essence of everyday life is captured on film. Chen Ming-Chun holds an MA in Design Futures from Goldsmiths, University of London, and is currently a doctoral researcher. Her professional expertise spans interior, lighting, and object design. In addition to her design practice, Chen is deeply involved in place-making and cultural initiatives. She has curated and managed organic rural markets and agricultural entrepreneurship programs in Yunlin. Her artistic practice integrates field recordings with site-specific imagery to construct spatial narratives where sound and visuals intertwine. She also utilizes ready-mades as an installation medium, reassembling and recontextualizing everyday objects to evoke new perceptual experiences.
